Syncretic Healing Services
Homeopathy is an effective and holistic scientific system of healing which assists the natural tendency of the body to heal itself. Derived from the greek words "homoios" which means similar, and "pathos" which means disease. This reflects the main principal of homeopathy which is the law of similars: “like cures like” meaning that a disease can be cured by a substance that produces similar symptoms in healthy people. The second principal of homeopathy is ‘the greater the dilution, the greater the potency’, also known as the law of infinitesimal dose. Homoeopathic medicine does not work at a molecular level, but through non-materialistic qualities (electromagnetic in nature) in the organism, which are so sensitive that even a mild stimulus is enough to cause a reaction. The third homeopathic principal is “An illness is specific to the individual". Homeopathic treatment provides individualized therapy that can only be decided on after specific case taking. To best establish the disease pattern, all aspects of a person’s being are considered. Homoeopathy was created in Germany in the mid 18th century, by physician Samuel Hahnemann. After taking regular doses of cinchona tree bark, he experienced characteristic symptoms of malaria, which lead him to the belief that substances that evoke similar reactions to diseases can also help to cure them. Looking more closely at "like cures like", Dr. Hanneman said, "Each individual case of a disease is most surely, radically, rapidly, and permanently annihilated and removed only by a medicine capable of producing (in the human system) the most similar and complete manner of totality of the symptoms." It is interesting to note that Hypocrites articulated this "law of similars" in the 4th century BC after his long study of the treatment of disease with herbs. It was also the basic theory used by Edward Jenner, Jonas Salk and Louis Pasteur during the development of the theories of immunization. Another important aspect of homeopathy is what has come to be known as Herring's law. Dr. Constantine Herring is felt to be the father of American homeopathy. It was his observation that the healing process progresses from the deepest part of the body to the extremities, from the emotional and mental aspects to the physical, and from the upper part of the body to the lower part of the body. Healing also progresses in a reverse chronological order, from the most recent maladies to the oldest. By understanding Herring's law, homeopaths are able to determine if their patients are indeed improving or if they are developing new illness patterns. Today homeopathy is extremely popular in Europe, the United Kingdom, South America, India and has a big following in Australia. Even Queen Elizabeth II has her own personal homeopathic doctor. Once people become familiar with Homoeopathy they are able to use simple homoeopathic remedies safely and successfully on a First Aid basis.
Iridology
Iridology is the study and analysis of the neuro-optic reflex. Observation of structural patterns and colours in the iris reveal much about our current health state. The science and practice of iris analysis is not new, the oldest records have shown that iris interpretation was used in ancient China as far back as 1,000 BC. Today in conventional medicine ophthalmologists utilise iris analysis to identify possible high cholesterol or diabetes. Modern iridology takes advantage of both manual and digital imaging techniques to help determine a patient’s overall health level. The iris is divided into zones and regions that correlate to certain parts of the human body. Just as it is said that eyes are the windows to the soul, it is also a window into the human body. Iridology has the potential to reveal disharmonies in the body ranging from pathological, structural and functional to psychological & emotional. Iris marking and colours may be used as a guide to identify conditions such as liver damage, gallbladder issues, gut health, cardiovascular health, compromised immune systems, mineral deficiencies, neurological influences and much, much more. Structural patterns & colours in the iris and indicators in the sclera of the eye can indicate: • Inherent strengths & weaknesses of systems, organs and tissues in the body • Assimilation of nutrients, toxicity, inflammation, circulatory & lymphatic irregularities • Iridology may help to determine pathological, structural, functional & emotional disturbances & predispositions within the individual. • Chemical (physiological) & structural (anatomical) changes to body tissues are observable in the iris Iridology allows the practitioner to understand a patient’s unique constitution, similar to a blue print, it is the foundation in which the whole of an individual's inherited and acquired characteristics are revealed. Iridology is not used as a diagnostic tool but rather as supportive role in a naturopathic treatment plan to help understand the uniqueness of your health state, possible predispositions and areas of investigation required.

Mineral Therapy
Minerals are specific kinds of nutrients that your body needs in order to function properly. There are many reasons why we may be mineral deficient: genetic predispositions, poor diet, depleted soils, illness, emotional stress, food processing, excess fluid loss, medications, excess alcohol and smoking. Mineral Therapy is based upon the principle that certain mineral deficiencies within the cells of the body may negatively impact one’s health. These mineral deficiencies may be corrected with Mineral Therapy and, in turn, assist in the restoration of health. Minerals are required for healthy bones and muscles, cellular fluid balance, hormone production, detoxification, healthy skin. We have increased mineral requirements at various stages of life including child development, puberty, pregnancy, menopause and old age. In order to determine mineral deficiencies and optimise homeostasis, a thorough case taking of your health state and observation of tongue, nails, skin and iris will assist your practitioner to provide you with a tailored 3 month remineralisation plan through diet and supplementation. Mineral therapy can be used for the treatment of inflammation, colds and flu, skin conditions, fatigue, stress, headaches, arthritis, weak bones, insomnia, digestion and fertility support. Minerals are cation-anion combinations which allow for rapid dispersion and increased bioavailability as the minerals are in the same form that is naturally found in the human body (e.g. calcium phosphate) and in nature, (e.g. iron phosphate found in grains and vegetables). Mineral therapy is completely safe for use with pregnant women, infants and elderly. Celloid minerals and/or biochemic tissue salts are gentle remedies that are easily absorbed and utilised by the body.
Naturopaths and herbalists use herbal plant medicine in their prescriptions to treat disease and enhance health and wellbeing. Herbal formulas are one of the oldest and widespread forms of medicine, with its history mostly centred around the ancient Greeks who were heavily influenced by middle eastern and Egyptian traditions. Greek physicians, including Hippocrates, were thought to have used herbal medicine in their practices around 400 BC. This was partly because he and his followers were among the first to consider a system that separated religious practice from medicine. Founded in tradition with current scientific evidence in support of their uses, many constituents in herbs are also found in conventional pharmaceutical medicines and can support healing and wellness by utilising the same biochemical pathways. For example Aspirin is derived from the herb Salix alba (White willow), and Metformin a drug used for diabetes, is derived from the herb Galega officinalis (Goats rue). Modern pharmacological medicines however, often have many side effects, herbs are not drugs. While the constituents of herbs are important, the whole herb is mostly used for health promotion and healing. Herbal medicine can be administered via liquid herbs, powder and tablet formulations and well as dry herbal blends for tea. Naturopathic herbalism supports a holistic approach to wellness and will often use in conjunction with other treatment therapies.

The purpose of Reiki is to awaken the inner self, while facilitating healing energy flow into the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual fields. The word reiki translates as universal life force or ‘Rei’ = mysterious and ‘Ki’ = energy. Reiki energy is what we call subtle energy, when we tap in through the subtle energy body we delve into the core of our being and we become more aware that all things are connected energetically. The loving, healing and cleansing energy of reiki has no limitations as to what it can achieve, limitations only come from the client themselves based upon their freedom to choose their beliefs, conditioning, judgments and the highest good of their soul’s life. All living thing contain electromagnetic energy, every cell, tissue and organ of the human body contains its own toroidal field. These fields serve as communication channels or data bases and integrate information into an energetic feedback system. Unresolved trauma, emotional blockages, belief systems, fears, thoughts and ancestral experience program the energy into our biofield impacting upon our state of health and experience. A Reiki therapist works with the energy centres known traditionally as Chakra’s or light portals, this is where information transfer and healing occurs. The state of our energy field effects our physiology directly, our endocrine organs are energetically imbedded through the charka system. We also see in traditions such as TCM, the associations organs have with emotions e.g anger is stored in the liver, grief is the lungs. Many ancient traditions where aware of these energy systems and how they connected to our physiology. They all worked with and understood the nature of universal life forces (chi, prana, holy spirit) the Vedic, Egyptian, Chinese, Mayan, Hebrew and Tibetan. Reiki enables the opportunity to identify underlying energetic influences which are impacting on the body’s ability to heal. Sonia trained with ‘Usui System of Natural Healing’ or Usui Reiki (Dr. Mikao Usui) a system developed in the Japan in the early twentieth century. Sonia specialise in other forms of vibrational healing such as radionics, rife and quantum healing.
